well after she missed one doe twice I realized that she was so excited she was shooting right handed and with her left eye :laf: She can shoot both right and left but she was a little shook up. :sneer:
on our next stand she had a four point come well within range and asked Dad can I shoot I said no honey does only this trip I felt bad, but I dont make the rules... :argh:
We musta watched him for an hour or so and he was a lot closer but right here he has us busted.

There were some nice does over here but too far to shoot....And they left when the buck finally snorted. All and all a fun day.

A good hunt by anyone's standard's :yoyo:. Glad it was her playing with the salamander.
agree, awesome hunt :congrats:
That's cool Al. Sounds like a great time. Way to go. Get her to the range, it's a good excuse to get some extra time together.
I like hunting and I love to fill my game pouch, freezer or whatever... But if I have an opportunity to take my kids hunting, even if it means a few missed shots or scared off game. I'll pick my kids every time.
Yep, the time you spent with her is worth more to you than the deer. To her I am sure she would have liked to have had the deer. There is always another day.
Jerry
Hopefully she's hooked and wants to keep going.
Were all guilty of buck fever...controlling it is the second part of being a good hunter.
I'll bet she was just as happy to have been out there with you. :congrats:
She is a great shot with that little gun..........she can hit a 3 inch apple @ 70 yds off hand....open sights.
She missed that deer by 4 feet the first shot then just inches the second and it still stayed around for a while after that... :laf:
She took it OK, I told her she got the best part of the hunt without all the work.
She is still telling the story. :roflmao:
My boy Bob just read this thread and his statement was "wow a salamander and she got to shoot too". Guess that tell's it from another youngun's perspective.
Good stuff Al :thumb2:
