If the cabins still end up being 1st come 1st serve, we ask that you would please not take cabins A-2 or A-3. But any other cabins are OK. We use those two cabins as our rallying point to meet up in the evenings. Jimmie In Ky takes A-2 and CCP takes A-3. It's these guys helping to put things together to make this an enjoyable outing. And with them together in the 2 front cabins our activities won't be spread out around the campground.
Coyote 101 is negotiating with the LBL and may be able to help us out with the cabins. How many of you are planning on renting a cabin? Small cabin (3 guys) or large cabin (7 guys) ? Would you be full, or have room for another member if need be?
I am planning on renting a large cabin, A-23 if available. And I have 0 empty beds. I plan on arriving Thursday the 5th and need a cabin for 3 nights.
I talked to the customer service lady at LBL again yesterday about our reservation problem. I thought she might be able to work something out for us, but she gave me the same answer that weedwalker got; it can't be done. She is a very nice lady and I believe that she sincerely wants to help us, but she isn't in the decision making chain. I asked her who made the decision, and she told me. I then asked her for the name and number of his boss, and the name and number of his boss's boss. Then I called the boss. At first he said no also, but after a little discussion, he said he would look into it. I had to email him some info about what we will likely need. I expect to hear something from him in a day or two. In the meantime it will probablly help if I can get him a reasonably accurate count of how many cabins we will need and maybe tentative arrival dates. This thread is just what we need.
There are seven large and five small cabins.
I plan on getting a large cabin and arriving on Wednesday the 4th. It looks like I have a full house.
Pat
I'm planning on renting the same small cabin I've had the last two hunts............ cabin A-24.
Frogman, wv_yoter, alscalls, and a few others would like to have B-15. We may need B16 as well depending on how many join us this year. We are tentativly planning on being there Tuesday evening. If need be we could reserve some of the other cabins for you guys. If they will let us hold them with a credit card, then you guys pay for them and the charges to our card are removed. That is assuming we are the first ones there??
Jim
And if we don't have an answer from th boss by th time I get up there . I will see if I can't get some assistance from the Wranglers crew. The gal at the resteraunt made pretty good wages last year and I know for a fact that tourism has not been good up there this year. I attended a couple of events as a vendor this summer and we did not have the numbers coming through we thought we should. At one event only ten percent of what it was the year before. Tough times are aldready here folks. Jimmie
Anybody else planning on renting a cabin? Right now it looks like we are planning on five large and one or two small cabins. I'm going to call the guy at LBL tomorrow and see if he has made a decision on our reservations yet. I'll let you know how that goes.
Pat
Thanks for working on this Pat. :bowingsmilie:
I talked to the guy at LBL today. He said that he is having a meeting tomorrow and one of the topics is the new reservation system. There is a chance that the system will be up and running earlier than expected. If so this whole issue becomes moot. He is supposed to call me back by tomorrow afternoon. We'll see. I'll keep you posted.
Pat
I got this email this afternoon. It seems the squeaky wheel really does get the grease!
To be fair to everyone who may want to reserve a cabin in January and February in Wranglers, we have set a date when you can call to make a cabin reservation. Beginning December 15, 2008 , you can call Wanda Crump at 270-924-2044 to make cabin reservations at Wranglers for January and February only. She is available Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST for cabins until March 1, 2009 when we will implement the new reservation system. Let me know if you have any questions Gary

Thanks to you and weedwalker as well........ :highclap: :highclap: :highclap: :highclap: :highclap: We do appreciated it very much!
This is what I had so far. Of course call in reservations will be "first come first served" so you will be free to ask for any open cabin. With that in mind I will refer you back to the opening post of this thread:

Ed we will need a small cabin,if it sleeps three. I see the list posted above, but unsure of the locations. Let me know Thanks Steve......
Steve,
Try this: http://www.lbl.org/08WranglersMap.pdf
The cabins are kind of along the right side in the areas labeled "A" and "B"
The small cabins sleep three, unless you don't mind a bedmate, then they sleep four!
Pat
A-4 is up front right beside CCP's cabin. The others are farther back in the campground on behind the shower house.
