Did any of you guy's see a bright light in the sky last evening. Here in Alberta it has been the talk all day. About 5.30pm a huge fireball was seen and everybody thought it was close to home because it turned night into day for about 3-5 second's. My family and I were heading south to Medicine hat so we missed the ball but sure seen the light. They are saying a meteorite came down and possibly not far from my place. Too cool.
I read a little bit about it. No one really knows what it was, and a couple people got it on film.
Some scientist said the descriptions sound like a rock entering the atmosphere.
It would have been cool to see. :eyebrownod:
Oh it was cool. Kinda blue like a welding arc light. I thought that a transformer or something had blew up behind us. People actually thought it was right beside them and went looking for what caused it. Glad the boy's seen it too and Don the youngest one guessed meteorite.
Just found this on Alberta Outdoors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_2aX-784sw&eurl=http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?p=3710121#post3710121
Wow!
That must have been awesome!
Jim
WOW !!! that would have scared the daylights outta me thinkin it was a nuke or something.
Years ago I'd witnessed a satellite that entered and thought it was doomsday. Nobody believed me until it was in the news. It was alot slower than the video you posted. This thing was glowing across the horizon in the morning. I remember reading an interview with a guy and his son fishin off the east coast and how terrified they were.
Thats a pretty cool clip. And actually Youtube categorizes other clips from other submitters too right there with yours :eyebrow:
They say that when these things enter they look a lot closer then they really are due to the immense heat and glowing fire.
They lost a tool pouch a few days ago in space maybe it came down. :laf:
What ever it was I sure wish I had seen it...........Too Cool! :yoyo:
Had something like that happen once in my teens when I got home from my GF's house. Lit the whole sky up! WOW!
