Centerfire season now opens on Monday, the 26th. The first full weekend will be Friday the 30th, Saturday the 31st, and Sunday the 1st.


The planned dates, 5th, 6th and 7th will now be the 2nd weekend of the season.
Looks like we may want to seriously consider a date change.    :confused:

There ain't no straw bosses or anything on this, but let's all remember why this thing was put together.

If you go to the LBL for the coyotes, then you have been messing up. One of the worst places on the planet to hunt coyotes is the LBL. These dogs are far too pressured to be easy to kill type dogs.
I'd go out to my relatives out in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas and Wyoming if it was about numbers for me.

I go for the comraderie, the fellowship and the meeting new folks off these boards face to face. It also gives Chet and I a few days away from the day to day pressures of life to just enjoy the hunt in it's purest form.

Some of you I consider my friends, some are mere acquantaces from the boards, but all of us share this passion known as coyote hunting.
I hope we don't leave anyone out due to selfish reasons.

I'm with Bopeye on this one. It's not about "fur down" on opening morning. It's about freinds that hardley see each other getting together to shake hands and sit around and visit. Yeah, we hunt while we're there, but if it was only about killing coyotes I'd stay home and hunt the strip mines where I have a much better chance of success. If the dates are changed, and then some of the people I'm looking forward to seeing can't make it, that would make the get together much less enjoyable. :wo:

I agree. I can make it, and will be there regardless. However, the date has been set for a long time and plans have been made. I think we should stick with it.

Let's stay with the original date.   I seriously doubt that other hunters will decimate the LBL coyote population before we get there.   :biggrin:

Besides, I don't coyote hunt for coyotes anyway.  I coyote hunt for fun.   :wink:

OK fellers, at this time this topic has gotten 139 views. I reckon most everyone involved has seen the topic (at least once).   
We have 19 signed up as "I'll be there".  With a majority of 12 votes cast for either "NO" or "I'll be there regardless" the majority has spoken.

The LBL get together has never been dictated or ran buy any one person in particular, it's always been a group effort, as I hope it will always be. This poll was designed for those interested to have a voice and a choice.  To quote my good friend Bopeye, the LBL hunt was first started "for the comraderie, the fellowship and the meeting new folks off these boards face to face".  After many years the tradition continues today, you all have proven that. I commend everyone for thinking of the fine folks that could not make the hunt if the date was changed. You all are a stand up bunch of guys in my book. 


We'll see you all @ the LBL, Feb. 5th, 6th and 7th.

I agree with Al, I would love to do some stands with some of you guys.  wv_yoter and I hunted together last year.  It would be fun and educational to go out with some of you guys.  See how you set up, call, etc.  I can hardly wait!!!
