we saw this bunch of turkeys one morning last week on the way to check traps.
you cant see them but there was just as many on the next point above them to the left as was in the pic.
its the biggest bunch of turkeys Ive seen in ages and its about 15 miles from home very, very close to a public hunting area.

Thank's for sharing. Someday I'm taking my new turkey call [if I can talk the wife into letting me have it back] and coming down there to try it out. I don't want to shoot one but I sure want to be able to say I could have.
those are over by the Frozen Camp WMA if ya ever make it down this way.
Nothing like spring gobbler hunting, my fav by far. Fall hunting is so so, but spring time spit drum n strutin :eyebrow:

Jim
alscalls, thats scary you were bout 15 miles from me when ya went by Frozen Camp, lol :shck: :biggrin:l
good luck frogman, i hope ya bag one.
I was asking everyone about you and yelling your name........ :laf:
Nawww I was deer hunting in Roane County and made a heck of a shot.
well shit and here i was tryin to keep a low profile, lol :eyebrownod:
you know where you drop down over the hill there to go to the frozen camp wma? that great big house there across the road from where ya turn down belongs to my great uncle. i used to spend alot of time over there growing up.
did ya get a doe or a buck?
in Jackson county you can shoot either from the first day but ya gotta wait in roane.
i go cross peniel road alot to get home when im out trapping and the deer numbers in roane versus Jackson county is unreal.
you see way more deer in roane than in Jackson. we have a real high kill but ya see more deer. least i do in roane than Jackson.
you ever been in mason county and noticed the number of roadkill deer down there? its a mazing they have any left to harvest during season cause they're always gettin whacked along route 2 and 62.
My family is from Mason County mostly......We could be related :eyebrownod: :laf: I have a family farm in Mason that I am going yote hunting on for the first time in three years. :eyebrow: Plumb full of bobcat, yotes and bear.
Just too far a drive to hit very often and one hell of a hike to the bottoms........some areas have huge rock cliffs.
I have taken a 6pt and two does so far this year. And if you look in the speacial doe regs. you can take a doe in Roane for the first two weeks and doe season you are only allowed 1 in Roane or 4 in Jackson....some one said there was a misprint somewhere on it and people were mad that folks were killing does...
I am allowed 4 here in Wood. Man they do try and confuse ya.
Roane is in the third column...

thanks for the clarification.
i was wondering why i was gettin a bunch of doe hides the first week of season over in roane county.
figured there was no way they were all shot in Jackson county, lol.
guess they didnt have to be. l.
