Today, I called my friend Pat who is a school teacher. He teaches welding and is done with classes at noon. We decided to give it a try . I called a rancher and got the go ahead. It was a little windy. We had enough time to make 5 calls. We called in two but left the stand too early on the first one. As we were talking one appeared and busted us. We had time for one more stand and the wind laid down. Started out with howl and got two different groups to answer. This big ole male came in and Pat shot him at about 50 yds. I missed the whole thing. My dog took off and the next thing I heard was a shot and a thump. I knew he had connected. When I talked to the rancher he had spotted 8 coyotes early in the morning when out feeding his cows. I guess we will be going back out there again. Here is the picture.
