I have been missing in action the last day or so and thought I would show you why.

The weather turned bad here and it has been "interesting" to say the least. Thursday was Becky's birthday and she started putting up the tree. The forecast was not good and she was worried about our oldest daughter and granddaughter (who live in Michigan) who were scheduled to be here Thursday night and then go on to Cincy on Friday. She thought they should just go straight to Cincy and bypass us, which meant that she would not see either of her girls on her birthday and since we will be going to Michigan for the family Christmas, no one would see the tree, etc. It was rather BLUE around here and I couldn't say anything. What I knew was that the other daughter and her two kids would be arriving on Friday when I took everyone out for lunch. Since the weather was not looking good our oldest decided to come and not spend the night so that she would miss the ice and snow that was predicted. I said that we would just all go out for supper. The youngest called and told me that they were coming Thursday as well so they would not have snow problems on Friday morning. So, I have a depressed wife who answers the doorbell on Thursday night to find both daughters and three grandkids smiling at her. One of those priceless moments. We all went out to eat and then came back and had birthday cake and opened a few presents before the oldest daughter and granddaughter left for Cincy.
Friday morning the ice was here and everything came to a standstill. We were doing pretty good till the cable and internet stopped - downed wires. Then, the electricity in this area went out about 8:00 p.m. It had flickered a couple of times, but about 8:00 it went off and stayed off till about 12:00. So, with no internet and then no power, it has been real hard to check on all you guys and gals.

I was wondering how you got through the ice storm.I seen on the news that you folks were gonna get hit
kinda hard.As for us we just got a little freezing rain and then all rain about 1 1/2 inches
I guess we all can be thankful we didn't get it as bad as the New England States
Glad youre OK.
Glad to hear everyone is safe Jerry, and the power outage didn't last too long. :whew:

Jerry big storm coming here today. going to be a bad one. hope you make it through it fine. you have a great Christmas i will. take care. Rick
Ice storms can sure do some serious damage. I remember back in the mid '80s living in Missouri we had an ice storm that brought everything to a grinding halt for almost a week. No electricity and running water for 6 days will wear on people!
I'm glad you got the family time as that is important stuff for your wife and I'm willing to bet even money for you as well. Storm's can be rough and we are all glad you came through it.
