There will be some guys looking for a motel near LBL to stay in instead of the cabins. What is around there?
There is the Dover Inn on the Tennesee side. What others are there?
The closest place to stay near Wrangler's Campground would be in Aurora, KY, I think.
Here are some motels. Look for the motels in AURORA, KY. http://www.explorekentuckylake.com/lakesarea/accommodations/hotels.htm (http://www.explorekentuckylake.com/lakesarea/accommodations/hotels.htm)
KenLake State Resort is also listed and it is run by the state of KY.
The distance from Wrangler's to Aurora, Ky is about 10-15 miles.
I maybe wrong but believe Dover Inn on the TN side is the closest. Around 20 miles and is at the entrance to LBL.
It's about twelve miles from Aurora to Wranglers. But some of them are expensive in my book. There are at least four besides Kenlake st resort which is right on the lake. Jimmie
Like CCP said, some of us TN guys stay at the Dover Inn in Dover,Tn.
It's a pretty good place, nice clean rooms. They also have several cabins for rent.

THANKS Jimmy. I never realized Aurora was that close. I would have went there for food but was told it was farther. WayneP would go to Dover and assumed it was closer. :doh2:
Learn something new everyday. Next time I make a store run from Wranglers will go to Aurora.
Chet is right Dover motel is a nice clean place low cost and friendly people. I have always stayed there every year until last year. I stayed at Wranglers to try it . I did like not having to drive from the camp back to the motel, I did miss the in the room bathroom utilities . :madd:

That's why I said it was 10-15 miles.
I've stayed at Aurora a bunch in years past while turkey hunting LBL. The prices ain't bad. Heck, at Wrangler's I'm paying $35 a night for a room with no heat and no bathroom! :eyebrownod:
