Title: How to question?????
Post by: centerfire_223 on November 30, 2006, 06:13:01 PM
After seeing the setup post, that is a great way to pick apart a piece of cover. But I have a question, how can I copy the picture that I pull up on the Ariel map? I highlight it and hit control C but then it won't paste into a word document. What I want to do is open it with paint, how do I do that?????

I usually find what I'am looking for then click  Prt Scrn then open paint then click edit then click paste. What ever was on your screen when you hit print screen will appear in paint after clicking paste. Then cut and crop off the edges.

You could try just Right Clicking on it with your mouse, then select Save As and it will save that picture to your My Pictures Folder in My Documents.

Clear as mud eh????

It won't let you right click. Bout the only way I know is like Rich said. get it where ya want and hit the Prt Scn. Which loads to the clipboard.
Then paste it into whatever application you want.

Are you saving it as an HTML doc?
If I click off the map I can do that....but it just saves as a web page.

if you hold the Alt key down and then hit Prnt Scrn, then that will only print screen the active window that you have up.  you won't have to crop out so much then.

I may take heat for this, but I have a Macintosh.  All I have to do is  click and hold on the picture, drag it to the desktop, and release.  There it is.  I can also do the right click to do a save as, but it is easier to just take it to the desktop and then file it away later.

That was the first thing that went through my mind when I read Stray's reply. He's running a Mac.

Either that or someone left the lid open on the washer and he's taking in bleach fumes.  :eyebrownod:

Just keep watching those commercials.  Hi, I'm a Mac.  And I'm a PC, PC, PC, PC.   :roflmao:

Actually after working with them in the schools for years it was the only operating system that I really knew how to run.  But then when I started on computers, to run a PC you needed to enter things like run://gofind//something_or_other\\ and then you needed to execute the command.  I just wanted to be able to click on the program and have it run.  The new PC operating systems look much like the mac and I can actually use the ones that my kids have.

I wouldn't mind having a Mac in addition to my Windows box. Them things are the graphic and editing leaders.
