Title: big dog (pic)
Post by: lankrod on January 08, 2009, 08:19:10 PM
I've been kinda bummed lately over the holidays, as I haven't had time to hunt much in the past few weeks, and my cohorts have been piling them up. I decided to do without a little sleep the past few days, and try a few calls on the way to work. Yesterday I called the smallest bobcat I've ever seen to within less than 20 feet of me. I swear I thought it was a housecat for a bit!!

This morning I connected on this big male.

I don't usually weigh them, but he felt considerably heavy, and looked pretty blocky. He topped the scales at 42 pounds. I'll go back tomorrow morning and try to connect on his mate-if I can manage to roll out of bed in time

nice yote.

do you sell their hides?
Yes, if they're decent enough and not shot up too bad.  We picked up a chest freezer for free last year, and just freeze them whole and sell them that way.  Freezer is about full, so gonna have to make a trip to the fur buyer soon.  That's OK though - we've got a few good places to call down that way too that have produced in the past!!
