Title: Help with phone cards please
Post by: iahntr on January 19, 2009, 09:18:11 PM
OK, here's the deal. We were talking to our son, he gets to call us on Monday nights for 15 minutes, and our call got
cut short about 7 minutes into it because his phone card ran out of minutes. Well I was not happy, because I just put like
500 minutes on it on 12/18.  So I googled and did a little research and found some others that were p'd off at AT&T.
I found the fine print that said it charges in state phone calls at a rate of five minutes per every one .
So you could call sea to sea and get charged 1 to 1, but calls made two hours away get charged 5 to 1.  :doh2:
The only real time Ive used phone cards are when I'm up in Canada where there's no cell phone coverage, so my phone card
experience is limited. So, I'll do some more searchin, but can anybody that has more experience with phone cards help me
out and recommend a good card to get?
Hopefully my little story can save somebody else too.
Thanks, Scott

Sounds to me like you bought the wrong card is all.
I know Walmart sells AT&T cards but there are different kinds.

In fact I think the one you want is here, http://www.consumer.att.com/prepaidcard/fy/pr.html

That's the one I have Jim. The way I see it, all AT&T look the same.
Click on your link, then go back up towards the top and click on "AT&T prepaid phone cards",
then go down towards the bottom, last paragraph, and click on "Terms and conditions".
Different rates for pay phone calls, to cell phones, and different states have different rates
for in state calls.    Sums a beeches !  :mad2:
