Temps were in the Cold zone this morning so I walked up behind the hose in the pines I set up along the fence
which put me at the top of the hill

The blue x is where I set up and the wind was blowing lightly from the red x on my left to the blue x the yellow line indicates
a highwall in an old coal mine
From where I was setting I could see most of the open field which was to my right
Here is a pic of what I could see kinda to my left

By the way I had no takers
Good to see you got out Bill!! That looks a lot like WV!! I was hoping to get out some on Saturday (1/25/09), but my hunting buddy cancelled on me??? So instead I stayed at the house and made some jerky for LBL. Hope you are feeling better Al!
Jim
Glad you got out Bill. Way better to have tried and not got any than to have not tried at all. What were you packing to shoot in the brush with?
I was carring a 44 mag carbine rifle 250 grain hollow point
I call it my brush cutter
Well if it isn't cutting brush it should have enough knockdown power on a coyote.
Glad you got out Bill. :yoyo: I got the new floor installed yesterday. :laf: It was purdy crunchy here this AM. Was it noisy trying to get back there?
Glad you got out Bill.......I am resting up for LBL......least that is what I keep telling myself.
thats perty thick, looks like a nice spot for a tree stand.
Yes it was a littile crunchy but I stayed on a deer path where the snow was already packed from so much deer movement and was a lot less noisy then just wondering aimlessly :laf:
There were alot of deer beds in the pine thicket that I came through.
Although I did see a nice grey squirrel
Deleted, double post.
It was a cold crunchy day for sure. I went out too and didn't have any takers either.
Frogman, ya shoulda hollered. Ya coulda gone with me. If not, I coulda sampled the jerky to see if it was fit for the LBL. :innocentwhistle:
Mike,
I'll give you a call next time!!
Jim
Yeah it's awful crunchy here too. We had 2" of snow today so that will probably make it squeaky now. Why dontcha go shoot one of those deer?? Maybe I'll stop by & HaMeR one with the crossbow before it ends. :eyebrownod:
