I would like to thank Reggie as soon as he found out no hunting at LBL he called and started trying to find an alternate location. I had already given up and was going to work this week. He done a fantastic job and it seems to be coming together.
Also Pat coyote101 (Big THANK you) has been a big help and was the person that contacted the guy's at LBL and got us some answers.
Also Ed (weedwalker) Contacted the head warden over the area. The warden welcomes us and said not a problem. Only thing he ask is NO four wheelers.
we will not be making it :rolleye:
I really can't make it!
That my crew's weekend to shut down & start up. :madd:
Guys... I'm glad you all found a place but please put me down for a no show. I'm just coming off a bout with the flu.. even making the LBL would have been right challenging. :argh:
Chet
Well I will be the first to say You will be missed
...and I would be the last :laf:
Jis kiddin Chet. Git yourself better we need ya around here
Thanks Bill... :eyebrownod:
I really hope you all have a great time and be sure to give ol' CCP a few lessons on calling those sly Ky coyotes.
Mr. Jim... Your never last, thanks
Thanks to all you good folks!!! I had no Idea so many of you folks pitched in :bowingsmilie: :bowingsmilie: :bowingsmilie: :bowingsmilie: :bowingsmilie: Thank you So much!!
As CCP mentioned above, I called the Captain of the 9th Distric Fish & Wildlife in charge of the area over where we're going. He was very glad to hear we are hunting coyotes there. There are about 800 head of free ranging cattle on the WMAs and the coyotes are doing a job on them.
He said NO ATV RIDING. Part of it has been open to riding in the past but they are putting a stop to it. You can drive your street legal vehical on any of the roads dirt/gravel in the WMAs.
No problem with people bringing handguns. And no magazine capacity restrictions on rifles. Shotguns must be plugged to 3 shells and No buckshot.
If you come up on an active mining area, turn around and go somewhere else.
Thanks Ed. I'm looking forward to getting there on Wednesday.
Pat
I would like to Thank everyone involved putting this together on short notice
I would also like to thank everyone in advance that will make this an unforgettable first out of state hunt for my grandson Kurtis
How old is Kurtis?? I taught K - 6 grade for over 20 years and I really like the kids. Looking forward to meeting the young man. This will be a great adventure for him.
Jim
Kurtis is 9 going on 20 and kinda shy till he gets to know ya then he is a little ham
I am hoping this little get together will get him to learn there is more to life then video games
What part of KY is redbird located?
Trying to get info on how long of a drive that would be for me.
JD
JD,
We are staying at Pine Mountain Resort which is just a little South of Pineville KY. We will be hunting Redbird WMA, Graham WMA and parts of the Daniel Boone NF. Most of these areas are North of Pineville along Rt. 66. I have never been to this area and others could probably give you more detailed directions. I have been studying the maps and aerial photos for a couple of days in anticipation of going. It would be great if you could join us.
