Frogman and alscalls recently purchased their OH hunting licenses. They let you hunt on Sunday in OH!!! Today (2/22/09) we joined several guys from another forum for a hunt near Nelsonville OH in the Zaleskie State Forest. This was just an hour from Parkersburg! We met at the Coffee Cup diner at 6:00 AM . . .

The Coffee Cup was nice enough to open an hour early for us this morning! Thanks Coffee Cup!
After a fine breakfast we went out into the parking lot to finalize plans for the day's hunt and get ready to go . . .

For the rest of the day Al and I hunted with two of the guys who knew the area (we didn't). . . .

The only success we had was on the drive out to the State Forest. We saw two coyotes leisurly mousing in a field just to left of the road. We all stopped to watch. They didn't seem too concerned about us. One of them even layed down while the other pounced on something in the snow. Sorry we didn't get any photos. And, just in case you are wondering, they were on private property???
I took this photo on one of my stands to show how nice the terrain was. The snow made visibility good.

I enjoyed meeting some more dedicated predator hunters. They all seemed like great guys and I would like to thank cariboudreamer, and anyone else who helped organize this hunt. Thanks also to ohioyotehntr for donating some really nice calls for a drawing. Mike2 I enjoyed sharing some stands with you!!
I think the non-resident OH license is going to be worth the $125.00. Just think how many extra days I can get in on Sundays!!
Jim
Enjoyed the read Jim! Hate you didn't get any. Doesn't the Ohio season start over in March? TN does.

Sure does
Brad,
Yes the OH license begins March 1. Alscalls got a e-mail from their DNR stating that our 09-10 license would be honored for the rest of this month. I'm looking forward to hunting in OH. I know several guys over there from scuba, ccw classes, and these forums!
Jim
I'm surprised at your surprise over the Sunday hunting. I didn't think hunting was against regulation anywhere. Kinda wierd.
Looks like a nice little outing. You and Alscalls are inseparable aint ya's?
Jim,
Wasn't surprised, just pleased. WV does not allow Sunday hunting????
Jim
Watching those coyotes was funny a whole convoy of trucks stopped in the road loaded with Thousands of dollars of equipment designed to call and kill a coyote and we were digging for cameras....... :roflmao: :roflmao:
Good time had buy all :yoyo: :yoyo:
I'm glad you you guys got to get your liscense early & that they allowed you to use them!! :yoyo:
Hey Jim, can you name those guys around the table w/ their web names?

I believe some counties here in WV allow Sunday hunting on Private Property with written permission.

Jim
Frogman ,it depends which county you live in. Jackson you cant evn with private property owners written permission, in wetzel, where Jerry lives, you can hunt private property with writen permission.
Public land in WV, regardless of which county its located in, is closed to Sunday hunting.
vv . . .
In the first photo the guy farthest to the left is ohioyotehntr. I don't remember the others names?? In the second photo left to right is alscalls, Mike2, don't know??, cariboudreamer. I had never met any of them before so it was hard to remember the ones who didn't hunt with us. I remember ohioyotehntr because he brought the calls for the drawing. Some in the first photo were young and I'm not even sure they are all on the forums?? Seemed like a really nice bunch of guys. Al and I hunted with cariboudreamer, who I think was the main organizer of the hunt, and Mike2. I remember cariboudreamer saying that JD (canine) helped him get started hunting the coyotes. Al and I were hoping canine would be there too, but I guess something came up that kept him away??
Jim
VV those fellers hang out on PM
