... I wondered. :wo:
Are you an ethical sportsman that only kills only under self imposed rules, or a predator doing what ever you can to kill your prey like the coyote itself does .
Are you one to think others are terrible for running over coyotes w/ snowmobiles, but when given the chance will nail one w/ your beater w/ a heater?
You don't need to post to vote. So please vote if just for the halibut.
I think the situation may be a bit different where I live than some of you. We don't have lanes and we sure don't have oncoming traffic. I'm asked to kill as many as I can and I've already showed what I drive.
I keep on keepin on. If I hit it I hit it. If I don't I don't.
I hit the brakes. I don't care to hit any animal and I don't care to damage any of my vehicles, however; I am not going to risk an accident by slamming on the brakes or swerving. If I did hit one, I would sleep well. I don't pass judgement on anyone who would run in the ditch to tag one or anyone who feels that they should only be shot under self- imposed hunting rules. In my book, ethics are subjective, coyotes can be/are nuisances, so the way people look at this can be a regional thing.
I would treat it like a deer.....let off the gas and maintain your lane.....odds are the animal wont be there by the time you get there.....swerving and braking hard could cause an accident as opposed to just an animal hit by a car. I would rather damage my truck than hurt someone else. M2C
I would not hit any animal on purpose!! I hate seeing dead Deer and stuff on the highway, I see it as a wicked disrespectful way to go. Laying there dead with the world to see you all banged up.
Now calling or hunting is different, at least you are going to their turf where they have an chance to escape or not be seen.
Chasing them down with a motorized vehicle is wrong in my eyes.

Around here, most city people think a coyote is a nuisance, but most farmers and ranchers want them dead by any means.
