hes picked these up in Wyoming and stored them in a back room in his attic so they wont deteriorate.
he has mostly mule deer and elk antlers with a few whitetail shed mixed in.
he calls this him insurance.
says if things get bad for him financially he'll sell em off,lol.
this is only one pile.

heres a pic of a lamp that a friend of his in Wyoming made him. He traded him some antlers in exchange for the lamp. the guys a veteranarian and makes the lamps to sell.
theyre expensive too.
personally i dont care for the lamp and if we ever get married...its goin in the man room ,lol.

i forgot to mention that pile alone is over 7 feet tall and about 6 feet across and at least 6 feet deep front to back.

Jim, he has 3 piles here plus one in Wyoming. hes been going out there for 18 yrs and picks some up every year.im not sure if hes ever sold any but he does trade some to Dick who makes lamps and stuff on a yearly basis.
i dont know how many years are in that pile because ive only known him for 4 but i do know i helped him carry some of those suckers upstairs last fall and he had a bunch of em, AND they can get heavy!!

i talked to Jerry and he found a nice 4 point, with a big main beam that he said would be right for what youre needin it for.says you should be able to get 3 or 4 calls eaily out of it. probably more but he said conservatively guessing thats his estimate cause i asked.
hes supplied some call makers in the past so he knows you need a quality antler to avoid splitting ect. he used to sell alot of em to a guy out of Glenville who sanded em down and did scrimshaw drawings on them also..
anyway, ill be in touch this weekend to arrange delivery. :biggrin:
