Not sure if I can get this to work or not, I guess if you're reading this, I did. :rolleye: I knocked my laptop off the arm of the sofa today, and when I picked it up,,,, I can now seeabout 40% of my screen (so I can only see about half of what I just typed.) I can see about 5" down on left side, about 4" over, and then it angles up to the right top corner. So I guess I'll be lookin for another computer too. :argh: I may just try and replace the screen, if I go that route I may just try one off ebay , I called Dell, and they said it would cost $325.00 from them to replace it ! :rolleye: Any body done it before ? Not sure how much I'll be able to see if you respond, :nono: but I just wanted to let evrybody know in case someone tries to pm me, I may not be able to pm ya back. Well I'm gonna venture down with my curser into the vast whiteness which used to be the bottom of my screen, and see if I can hit the send, or post, or reply butoon, or whatever it says, and make this post. :doh2:
Scott
You guys reading this? :eyebrow:
Nows the time, if you've been bottling up any derogatory feelings with Scott, to let em fly. :laf: He can only read half of it anyway. :eyebrow:
I can say I've never had to replace a LCD screen on a lap top, but depending on what the entire machine cost ya, $325 doesn't sound too bad.
MAN THATS GOING TO COST YOU OUT THE ASHHHHHHHH :doh2: :doh2:
Knocked it off the sofa, or is someone using white out on their computer screen? :roflmao: :roflmao:
:roflmao: @ the white out!!!!
too bad you couldnt rig up a normal monitor...... I bet ya could..
There's nothing to rig, plug it into the outside VGA port.
Wasnt sure if they had a port for em, never played with a lappy top but thought they should have that option built in
The thing is who wants to pack around a 24" CRT with their laptop :laf:
Well I guess want & need are two different things but right now SOMEBODY needs something. :innocentwhistle:
:laf: :laf:
Dang,,, tough crowd. "White out" :doh2: :laf: I know ya'll missed me. :nono:
Well I'm up and runnin again. So far so good anyways. After the first night of being able
to see a little of my screen, the next morning I couldn't see any of it. I also tried hooking up
the desk top monitor, but that was no go either. Dell wanted the $325.00,,,,
for $55.00 plus $10.00 shipping off ebay, I'm good to go. :yoyo: About a dozen screws,
unplugging a couple plugged in thingys, all this while shaking a little, partly from being nervous
not wanting to break anything as I was guessing as I went along, and partly cause I was jonesin
pretty good from my dry spell with out any net , pop out the old screen, and in with the new one.
It's good to be back anyways. Now back to ebay,,, I'm buyin a back up computer.
Scott
