So there I was today teaching my 3yo how to field strip & clean my XD sub9, just another normal day. . .
Then we moved on to the single six. Got her cleaned up & was ready to reinstall the cylinder, and at the last second I flipped the six over in my hand to double check my work. . . She grabbed my hands and said . . .
"NO DADDY! That goes in the other side! DUUUUUHHHH!" :nofgr: :doh2: What I wouldn't give to have that one on video tape.
CCW:
I had been practicing for my CC class this weekend (I couldn't think of anything better to spend Missouri unemployment $ on this week.) HOLY COW! 15 out of 20 shots at 21 feet, and the target is like 24x38"? What A joke! I could throw rocks at it and still pass. I wonder what they would say if I was to show up with my atlatl and darts strapped to my back. :roflmao: ~K

Be thankful they set the target up so MOST people can pass the test. They could set it up so MOST people will fail. The goal is to get your CCW, right?
If someone fails that test, I would rather they stuck to hand to hand combat anyway, lest they end up on death row for shooting everyone except for the intended target.
I have to admit that I think there is A breaking point, there are some people out there that should be. . . allowed to fail. I work with most of them. :rolleye: Being laid off has done wonders for my health! ~K
Well I passed. 20/20 on the live fire test, and I have one bad eye.
I handed out some child safe locks I had to those in need, so that made me feel more safe in the community.
I cleaned another guys pistol and revolver, and helped teach him how to field strip his semi, so that helped time go by A little.
All in all it was A very good experience. ~Kiyi
ps- your right Semp, brother. I was just looking at it from the wrong angle I guess. Thanks for straightening me out on that one.

"Do you think think gun will be ok for the shooting part of the test? A guy cleaned it for me 15 years ago, and I dropped it in the river 1 time 2 years ago on A float trip." - the guy next to me at the CCW class today.
So I cleaned both of his irons, showed him how to field strip the semi, (SAID A PRAYER) , gave him some child safety locks, (SAID A PRAYER) , and took the spot next to him on the live fire line to help him out. (SAID A PRAYER) He passed!
I have done my good turn for the month I think! ~Kiyi (thanks for the advice Semp!)"
Look on the bright side, kiyitec. The dude hasn't shot himself or anyone else for 15 years so he's probably safe. :eyebrownod: There are people out there that know guns and still do stupid stuff. Remember the DEA agent who shot himself while giving a classroom demo to some kids? Ya can't fix stupid. :nono:
Hopefully the guy learned a little bit about his gun from you which will make him a better and safer shooter. :congrats:
