Title: What kind of wood is this
Post by: duckslayer on April 09, 2009, 09:23:07 PM
I found this wood and so I thought I would try and make something out of it.  But I have no idea what kind of wood so if you could help I would be greatful!!!  Has very tight grain and as I was cutting it on the lathe it started to look like fur, that is the only way I know how to explain it.  Thanks guys.

Beaverwood

I'm not sure, but my first guesses would be either ash or white oak

Reminds me of ash as well. It also has the look of Olivewood.
