Title: Time to secede from the union?
Post by: Bopeye on May 06, 2009, 10:40:28 PM
I see where Montana, Oklahoma, and Texas are starting to demand a few things from the Feds or they have the rumblings of secession on their lips. Remind me to move to one of them when and if it happens.

I found an interesting little fact about another great American who believed in getting rid of an existing government if the existing one didn't suit them. Interesting who he was.  :eyebrownod:

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the
right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new
one that suits them better." Abraham Lincoln January 12, 1848. See, even Lincoln supported secession before he was against it.

This country is a country of secession. We seceded from Great Britain. Texas seceded from just about everyone at one time or the other. The South seceded from the union. AND NOW, we find ourselves here again. AMAZING.  :doh2:
