Title: Yukon river breakup

Got back from village of Galena on the Yukon river a couple of days ago and got to witness the ice jam come through.

Thats the baggage claim? You have got to be kidding me? :roflmao:

That ice jam looks quite a bit like we get up here on the Wisconsin river. Pretty cool site, thanks for sharing the pics. :wink:

Our river is not nearly as large but just as spectacular in the spring.  I dont get too close when she's up n roaring like that.

Neat pictures.  I have watched the ice flow (much smaller) around here and it is unbelievable the amount of force that water can have - just watch the ice when it comes to a smaller spot in the river or comes to one of the small islands.
