Title: Unbelievable
Post by: pitw on May 20, 2009, 09:56:35 AM
I got home from a day of R+R last night [drove 600 miles to look at another sprayer and pick up parts] to find a box and a letter in my stall at the table.  The letter wasn't much just the bank wanting me to do some hoop jumping for their entertainment so I called them this morning and told them to close my accounts and that I'd be taking my business across the street to their competition[guess they didn't like that as they have called back 6 times and I ain't answering their calls].  The box on the other hand held my attention all night because I can't open them without Bob and Don.  This morning the boys enthusiastically ripped[cussed a bit at the good job of packaging] open the box to find this

Unbelievable workmanship and we were ooooooohing and aaaaaaahing over it until the wife came in the room when all went quiet as we are getting a bit call shy around her.  To our udder amazement she ooooooohed and aaaaaahed and then [you could have knocked me over with a feather] she says,"what's it sound like".  Don blew in the tip of Rips hat and the strains of a mortally wounded animal snuck out that I'm sure are going to make some fuzzzy buggers wish they hadn't heard them.  Totally awesome that anyone could make something look this good and sound like that :yoyo: :yoyo:   To say I'm impressed would be like saying the Jolly Green Giant is a little bigger than a seedling.  Thankyou Dave.

Don being a little more inquisitive than some and probably wanting to read the comics was digging through the box of newspapers when he came across a couple more bubble wrapped packages, which he and Bob got opened in short order to find

Made from red oak and not expected at all the boys let out squeals of delight and proceeded [because ma told them to try Rip] to blow out distress tunes that got us all banned from the house again.  Beautiful calls again that my boys received from a member on this forum of people that never fail to amaze me in their unselfish acts towards me and my family.  Once again Dave thankyou ever so much and I'll bet everything I own that the boys will be thanking you in their own way.
I did have to chuckle when Donny said, "Dad we are going to have to make some bunk beds if all these guys show up at the same time for me and Bob to take out and get 'em a coyote".  I hope that some day all of you guys can come up here and shoot a boatload of our coyotes just for the pure enjoyment of it and my house is open to you all[it's kinda/sorta open to everyone as I don't have any idea where the keys would be if we locked it] and the food isn't bad here either.

Barry,

Glad to see Ol' Rip and the gang finally made it.  I thought he might have headed back to the Catskills, it took long enough!  Anyway, glad the young fellas like their calls.  And the being banned from the house part when testing calls?  Get used to it.  All I have to do is pick up a call, and the wife gives me that;  "Don't even think about it! " look!  LOL!  She did give me hell, for not sending your wife a "commisery" gift, being that she has to put up with you and the boys whaling on those "noise makers" as she not so fondly calls them? My apologies to your wife.   Ah well, I'll figure something out next time around.  Okay!
Meantime, Thanks again!

Dave

Hey Bill,

I figure that I can swing by Ohio and pick you up.  And between the two of us driving we can be on Barry's doorstep in about 3 days?  We best wait until the Fall butchering has been done.  Or maybe a moose has been taken.  That'll guarrantee fresh sausage and plenty of fine eating.  I suppose we can skin a few coyotes for Barry to earn our keep? LOL!  Eventually the Mounties will be called to evict us back across the border. LOL!

A rangy bunch of us show up at the border in a tour bus, they'll turn us back for sure!  Best to sneak across in a beat up pickup, so as not to draw attention. Might be able to bribe our way across with some calls? LOL!  We can even stop and get Jim.  -He can help with the coyote skinning!  Sounds like a plan.

Semp I can't see any problems with you coming to Canada but they might not let you back
Steve I think we'll leave them on fences to scare away the others as I averaged $12 for the last 18 on the May NAFA sale.
Dave it isn't that expensive in Canada and remember your Buck is worth a buck and quarter here.
Thanks for the interest guys as the boys read this thread and Bob said, "these guys really don't know you do they dad".Don said "That would be too cool if they all showed up and I bet some of them might even get one".

Update on the letter from the bank.  Got a call on my cell phone from the bank manager yesterday[wife who loves me dearly and doesn't wish me to talk to her for a week gave him the number] and wanted to talk.  I told him I was busy but I'd have time to see him i my office at 3pm.  He asked where my office was and I said "it will be on the SE 8 38 2 W4[legal land despription of the 1/4 I'd be spraying]".  The bugger showed up and we discussed the banks way of doing business with me.  He said because of the economy they had to be aware of who they were dealing with to which I said I've been dealing there for 30 years and have never missed a payment or bounced a check.  He agreed that the letter I received should not have been sent and apologized so I guess I'm back.

Due to the financial mess going on right now, a lot of the banks and businesses in general are throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I got  notice from one of my credit card banks that they were cutting my credit line.  I've never missed a payment and always pay the balance in full each month.  They said I didn't owe enough ( I swear that is what the guy told me) so they were reducing my available credit line.     So I says "If I stop paying you and max out the card will ya give me more credit?".  He says, "We will work with you."

Cheese and Crackers!  The world's gone to hell in a hand basket!    :nono:

And they wonder why we are having a financial meltdown   I try and keep my good paying customers happy and stay clear of the iffy ones.  Maybe I don't understand finance enough
