I had to dig my toy outta the driveway today and take her for a joy ride. Give her a breath of fresh air, get the grease in the wheel bearings spinning, etc. :laf:
I took some moving cellphone pics to see how they'd turn out. Not as good as the posed ones but what the hey.
This one it's really tough to see but this elderly couple actually loaded up their car with the damn kitchen chairs and headed to the river fishing. I couldnt believe that when I seen it. There she sets in a wooden kitchen chair fishing. He's up outta his, he's got something going on. :nono: :roflmao:

This one is an old tug boat that a guy who owns a heavy equipment outfit right on the river, bought and decided to dredge out a channel from the river allowing him to bring this thing closer to the highway. His plans were to close the trench up once he floated this pig in, to separate it from the river, keep it afloat, fix it up and turn it into a hotel.
Awesome idea, especially with all the tourism around here, but he never got it done.

These next two pics show you what people who decide that they absolutely HAVE to live in a notorious flood plain, get to come home to everyday.

This is what it's like behind the houses in those two pics. While it looks like a nice little bass hole, it's not even a foot deep and sets like that year round. Can you just imagine the mosquitos? :sad3:

One of the many salt piles around here, that the local towns crews use on the roads in the winter.

This one didn't turn out worth a hoot. I took it out the back window of the truck while going across the Wisconsin river. Wanted a picture of the big bluffs around here and got the bridge guard rail instead.

You must really want to live next to water to have a house that high on stilts. Good thing you don't have earthquakes.
John
Those are pretty good pic's and thanks for showing them. They had houses in Queensland [Australia] on stilts like that. I asked a guy if it flooded there often :doh2: It was to help cool the house.
I see nothing wrong with a kitchen chair
If I seen a boat like that along a highway up here, I'd have to think that I'd taking up beer again. :wo:
We have them houses on stilts around here too. :eyebrownod: When the river gets going that dont even help.
This was followed by the famous quote, "Hey Bubba, watch this!" Jim will be looking for a new truck, once he is out of the hospital.

Easy nowwwww. Obviously I was looking at the world through the windshield and not the viewfinder. :laf:
