Title: Parasites killing off the Bass?
Post by: FinsnFur on July 03, 2009, 11:01:03 PM
We got a thing going on up here that the DNR calls Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia.
Apparently our large and small mouth bass are in danger and dieing off by the thousands by these disease that causes hemorrhaging of the eyes, and other organs.
Sounds wonderful.  :sad3:

I caught this lil smalley today that had some type of worms attached to him. They looked kinda of a yellow milky color, and where the worm or what ever it was, entered the body there was a small lump around it.

Never seen anything like.

Looks like it might be an anchor worm.     Do a google search and plenty of info is available.

If I remember right I think parts of Ohio has had this problem for sometime......
It did not seem to kill off the fish but it sure seemed to hurt it for a long time.
