A friend wanted Dave and I to take a couple of kids hunting last night as they wanted to go night hunting and our night season runs out the end of this month.............Cant say No to a young person so we geared up and left about 10Pm and set up after some careful planning.
Dave was to start us off with one lone howl to let us know when and I was to follow with an answer........
As soon as I answered the hillside in front of me and this young fella came to life with some amazing howls......
About 10 min. later we heard the barbed wire fence we were sitting next to go.....THONG and I quickly set the light on the coyotes crossing to our right and caught them going up the hill behind us in an attempt to get down wind.....
For some reason the young fella quickly called for "Jesus Christ!" Not knowing if Jesus liked to coyote hunt or not I gave the young man a strange look.....Followed by him apologizing for inviting Jesus without first asking if it was OK.
He said "Sorry I could not help it....this is cool" Assuming he just wanted to share something cool with our friend I looked again to see if the coyotes were still interested and they were sitting down and waiting to see if he would really come... :laf:
I lip squeaked as to try and get them into shotgun range and they came some closer only to return and await the arrival of our invited guest.......They started barking and really put on a show for this young man.....It was a fun time for all of us as Dave had one show on his end of the field as well while sitting with another young fella.
It has been a very long time since Dave and I have got to hunt together since he had been sick and what better way to come back than howling em up for some kids! :yoyo:
I heard this young man explain to me on the way back to the truck how he usually does not talk like this but was very excited and could not help himself.......I would hope he would ask before inviting others but under the circumstances I did not mind the invite...just maybe the timing of it...... :laf: :laf:
:yoyo: :yoyo: Everything about that story is cool Al!!! :yoyo:

Thanks fellas I was so glad to see old " belly boat butt" get to the howler again ......put a big ol smile on my face to hear that familiar sound again...... :eyebrownod:
