Title: Kids Day at the Fish and Game
Post by: Hawks Feather on August 16, 2009, 06:52:50 PM
Well after not having a Kids Day at the Fish and Game for quite a few years the new president (he started in January) thought that it would be a good idea to start it again.  So there was BB gun shooting, Black Powder shooting, .22 LR shooting, and Archery shooting.  Also a free lunch.  The new guy thought that it would be great if there would be 25 kids there.  The game warden thought it would be excellent if there were between 40 to 50 there.  And then there were the 92 kids and 50+ parents that showed up.  You can get an idea of what it was like here   http://gallery.me.com/dadlatta#100174

President Jerry

P.S.  The kid on the crutches is Jonathon Niese who pitches for the Mets.  He lives here in town and since he had surgery on his pulled hamstring he came out to sign autographs and enjoy watching his brothers shoot and his dad work the BB guns.

Looks like an excellent way to spend a day. By the way, they had hatchet throwing too?.. or was that kid just pissed off?

That is truly inspiring Jerry :yoyo: :yoyo:  More smiles than you can shake a stick at and if every one of them kids picked up just one piece of good info that's a pile of info.  Good on ya for doing this and may the laughter you hear from it never stop.

Those are cool pics Jerry. I like the one of the kid throwing the hatchet. My dad had me doing that at thta age and man I loved it and would practice in the back yard for hours on end.  I wish we had something like that up here for our kids. Thanks for sharing.
