Is there any interest in one this year

Last years rules
Contest will be broken into two categories and will run from Sept. 15th, 08 through Jan. 12th, 09
Best Photograph
Can be a photo of any bow kill harvested between the dates above. Date stamped photos are a plus. Judging will be on the aww factor of the picture. Meaning either the size of the harvested animal/s, or the setting the pic was in, or overall picture, or all of the above. looking for something that stands out from an ordinary hero shot here.
Largest Whitetail Rack
Will have to be photo'd obviously, but I'll ask that you include something for size reference. A tape measure legible in the pic, measuring the spread, would be best.
Must be a Whitetail dear.
This will be judged on the widest spread, so measure them at their widest point.
•The members will judge the Best Photograph, and the Largest Whitetail Rack will judge itself.
•You don't have to specify which category you want your entry in. It will pretty much dictate that itself.
•All entries must be a registered Fins and Fur member at the time the contest begins. (Sept. 13th 08) Midnight. This way no one is lurking, hops in after a massive kill and runs off with the loot, never to be seen again.
•All entries must be posted in this thread in order to be eligible.
•(NEW for 08) All entered pictures must either be time stamped via the camera, or there must be something in the photo reading "Fins and Fur 08". No photoshopped images.

I like the idea of a minimum number of posts. Say 15 or so. This would show participation on the board & there is plenty of time yet for the new folks to get the required number of posts needed. In my opinion it's not so much about the money, prizes, or contest. It's more about participating & contributing to the board.
I also like the idea of an FnF sign in the pic. I thought it was neat the way Vic made his with shotgun shells in the crow contest. :eyebrownod:
Maybe a tape measure across the main beams for size. :shrug:
just a couple thoughts. Your call on what you do with them. You know I'm OK with whatever you come up with. :yoyo:

Heck yea lets have one but I am killing meat this year so I probably dont stand a chance...Thats OK it will still be fun and I want to say I will donate a grunt call for the contest as a prize I just gotta build it.....

Our bow season starts Sept. 12th. for a week.......... then closes reopens the second week in Oct.

Well....that wasnt really this years rules, I dont think. Bill was polling the membership to see if it was worth our time to run another one.
I'm sure the rules will be the same, but someone will make it official.

As for me and KY, on second thought, my shoulder might not let me do much with a bow for awhile so start and stop the contest when ever you want. If I can bow hunt I will.

Ohio deer season ends the last of Jan.I think But I am happy with ending it in the middel of Jan
