You all know how to play Where is Waldo, well now it is time to play Where is Hawk. I am traveling. Here are a couple of pictures since I left Defiance. Do you know where they were taken?

Defiance, thats a cool nick name for her. I have no idea where you are but the flowers are even and I really like the mauve rings . Thanks for taking me along.
Glacier National Park?
The last one is a National Park, but not Glacier. Think Rich Cronk.
Rich ?? He lives here in Iowa. That last pic looks like the Badlands !?!?!
I think it's the badlands as well. Been through the badlands and if that isn't it, then I don't have a clue. :yoyo:
I'm gonna make my guess AFTER you post the locations. I just want to make certain I'm right 1st.
:roflmao: :roflmao:
Nice pics Jerry!! Hope you're having fun "out there". :yoyo:
#1 looks like S/W Wisconsin
#2 looks like Iowa
#3 looks like S.D. badlands
Trick qyestion. :innocentwhistle:
1. In the car next to his lovely wife.
2. In the car next to his lovely wife.

1. Missouri
2. Nebraska
3. S.D. Badlands
1 Wisconsin
2 Southern Minnasota
3 South Dakota Badlands
1. Iowa
2. Nebraska
3. South Dakota
Ok, the first one, how bout from an overlook on I 680 just east of I 29 ??
The second pic, hafta go with somewhere in western Nebraska, by Sidney ?
The last one, still gotta be the Badlands.
The second one could be by Sidney Nebraska, but I've seen Milo fields like that all over Nebraksa and Kansas. There's a huge Milo field right next to the Geographical Center of the lower 48 in Kansas.
iahntr seems to know the southwest part of his state. At least the overlook on I-680 just east of I-29 that is where picture #1 was taken.
#2 is I-90 around Mitchell, SD
#3 was WAY to easy since most got it right - Badlands
No quiz this time, but a couple of pictures from today.

Nice country
I will not post where these were taken since it would make it too easy to find the answers to where tomorrow's pictures might be taken.
Jerry
Neat pics... :hahaha: but weird looking deer they have there. :laf:
Those speed goats are interesting creatures, they sure can jump. :eyebrownod:
Have a safe and enjoyable vacation, ;yes; we'll be waiting for more pics.
Goodness gracious, those pronghorn sure can make a fella homesick for the prairie again. You are in South Dakota, Wyoming, Western Nebraska or Montana right now.
My best guess is Wyoming.
Thanks for sharin some of your vacation with us Jerry.
Enjoying the pics.
Scott
It just dawned on me today. You will be putting up pictures of Old Faithful today, won't ya Jerry? :eyebrownod: I bet they have painted little foot prints where King Obama stood there just a week or so ago. Did ya stand in them? :laf:

Sorry Bop,
I am going to wait for Yellowstone to be fumigated before I visit. It should be done by the time I get there. There will be some pictures from today when I get back from supper. All that stalking for Big Game made me hungry.
Jerry
QuoteAll that stalking for Big Game made me hungry.
You need a new navigation system Jerry. They show you where the restaurant is. :eyebrow:
Don't they Bop!!! :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
Bopeye IS A restaurant navigation system :roflmao:
Now be quiet in here, I'm trying to study for tomorrows picture quiz :eyebrow:
Nice pics Yerry
Sure is some beautiful country out there
Have a safe one
Cool pics Jerry. Look'n forward to more of the trip. :congrats:
Well, here is an easy question to see where I was today. This is the hotel that I had planned to spend the night in. When we got there we found that it had closed. Where is it?
When we couldn’t get a room booked there we went here and didn’t have any luck there either.
I liked the textures in the weathered wood.
One of the hillsides along the road.
A little further and I “spotted†this.
One of the many streams that we passed.
I thought of buying a place, but this was the only fixer upper I could afford and the barn was extra.
I thought about buying this for target practice, but someone already got it.
Thunder Jack. This was really neat to see, cast in bronze, and very well done. You can read about the statue on the plaque that was below the statue.
That is it for today.
Jerry
Wow, beautiful country.
The only clue I got is it aint here.
Montana?
Sure looks like your having fun where ever it is.
Looks like some of the same terrain I saw down in MT earlier this year. Neat pics and thanks for showing them to me.
Where's the next addition? :eyebrownod:
Well it has been a couple of days and I am sorry about that, but I have not had an internet connection until tonight. Our room in Glacier had electricity and running water, but no internet, TV, or radio. It was really relaxing to sit there and look out our window or sit on the porch and enjoy a drink after a long day touring. This will no doubt case dial up systems to crash, but here it goes.
The welcoming committee to Glacier. Seems that the edge of the roads are a good place to graze your cattle. Not behind the fence, but between the fence on one side of the road and the fence on the other side of the road.
This is the view from the porch right outside our door.
Looks so small in a picture.
This was shot at dark and from quite a ways off, but if you look at the right hand side of the picture you will see the bull that owns the herd. Shortly after this picture a smaller bull came in to introduce himself and left VERY quickly.
Cameron Lake in Alberta. It has water that is extremely blue. It also has Griz warnings.
This is a picture of Wild Goose Island that is just a great place to take pictures. There was a storm coming and light rain falling when I took this one.
Hidden Lake is found after an hour and a half hike from the information center at Logan’s Pass. It seemed much shorter 20 years ago.
Here is a little friend that I met on the way to the top of the pass.
Just in case you couldn’t see him very well I got a little closer. They aren’t happy when you get too close.
It is always interesting to look at Indian culture and ways of living.
I think this is one of the first Native Americans.
I thought that I would leave you with a picture of Wild Goose Island with a full moon.
Oh my gawd, that picture of Goose island is breath taking Jerry.
Ah crap :doh2: THAT sounded gay didnt it?
You gotta send me that one in it's full size when you get back home.
Your covering a lot of country. I am certainly glad you brought your camera, I'm liking this :eyebrownod:
Beautiful pictures Jerry! Keep them coming. You should have had your picture taken with "Thunder Jack". Could have called it "Thunder Hawk"..."-Retired Principal turned Call Maker and Adventurer" A true Internet Explorer that opened the gateway to the West for a lot of those longing to be there...Keep up the great work! And have a wonderful trip!
Dave
Your pics just keep getting better each time Jerry!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
Those pictures are so beautiful. I am so glad you are having a fine time Jerry, wish I was there too. :highclap: :highclap:
Great scenery, Jerry! Ya say that hike was shorter 20 years ago? :eyebrownod: I know that feeling well. :laf: Great pictures! :congrats:
That looks almost familiar Jerry . Gotta love the night off too :yoyo:. That fawn in the teepee is cool eh.
Jim took the words outta my mouth, even with the light rain goose island turned out great :yoyo:
Good job with the photos !!
Well, it is time for a few more pictures. These were shot in Yellowstone late this afternoon and evening.
Jerry
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/JLx220/WhatamI.jpg)
What is this insect? It looked somewhat like a cricket, but it is HUGE. Probably twice as long as an Ohio cricket and a little larger than my thumb.
This is what has moved into town. There was one bull and 63 cows and calves. What a difficult job â€" servicing that many cows.
For my Ohio friends that have not been out west, these Ravens are more than twice the size of our crows. No wonder the hunters out here can shoot them at this size.
Can you find the animal in this picture? There were two, one laying down and this one who was standing. I couldn’t get very close â€" sorry.
This Big Guy was walking along the road and I got a shot.
Then a few miles later this one was on the road. It was fun to drive up beside him and hit him with a flash picture. One foot on the brake, one on the gas in case he turns, and two hands on the camera.
Jerry
No idea what the bug is and he looks like he has an attitude. Don't all males down south service that many females? Cool pics of the Bison and keeping a foot on the gas was good thinking. :yoyo:

That camera of yours is something else Jerry, great detail on that bug close up. So where was this, Yellowstone National Park?
Yeah that bug looks a little pizzed. :laf: Dang Bison are huge too. Cool pics again Jerry!! :yoyo:
