Title: Dec 28th coyote (pic,clip)
Post by: CCP on December 29, 2006, 12:56:52 AM

Me and Aaron scouted a new place earlier in the week and waited for the wind to get right. We were able to get Aaron's best friend Daran (aka Bubba) to go along with us. He hasnt ever seen a coyote called in before. We decided to set him up for the shotgun and have Aaron set behind us with the rifle just in case one crossed the field.

About 5 min into the stand the wind changed blowing into the field. Two coyotes came into the field I was facing the wrong way with the camera and tripod. I thought they were closer when he alerted me and took the camera off the tripod and swung around. Was able to get them coming in but was unable to call correctly with my hands full. We were still able to pull off getting one coyote. I wasn't able to get real good footage for the Video but it's not to bad thought I would include the shot and kill in this one. The coyote jumped in the air after being hit.

Rich,

Thanks for another great clip. Those coyotes coming across that open field, that is something I don't have very often. Good callers always tell you to put your wind blowing across those types of fields, but they don't say forget about it and not keep your eyes on it too, if you can. You just never know about a coyote, they will always do the unexpected.

Can't wait for the Crow Creek Video!!!
