On Thursday I scouted some really nice new areas for coyotes (see other post). One spot looked too good to pass up so in the evening we decided to do a stand there. This was in a really nice hay meadow that had recently been cut and put up in round bales. We set up in the shade of some round bales with the sun behind us and the wind in our face. Time was about 6:00 PM. Here is what I could see . . .

And a rare shot of the Frogman . . .

After some calling we had two visitors . . .

The sun was in their eyes and the wind was good so they had no idea we were there! They kept coming closer . . .

Finally they got in the shade of the bales we were sitting against and saw us. They were about 10 yards away!! The doe snorted and they took off. Made me jump when the doe snorted and I didn't know if this photo turned out or not? Came out pretty good I think!?!?

Made for a fun stand. Unfortunately we didn't get any coyotes in??

Love the shot of the deer running so close to you.
Thats great, very nice pics !! I couldnt tell you the times Ive had deer come within 20 yards of us calling. One time I had out a featherflex fawn decoy and I was using a fawn in distress sound on my caller. Well I called in 2 fawns that came within feet of my decoy. lol thats my luck. Thanks for sharing the pics ! :highclap:

Cool pics.
The pic of them taking off turned out real well and I'm surprised you never got a coyote there.
Good looking pictures of the deer. :highclap:
:yoyo: Great pics Frogman!
That last pic is just cool!!! I have had animals walk in like that and never have had my camera on me.
:laf: That was some good picture taking.
Felt kinda weird to set there and have them walk right up to you didnt it? :eyebrownod:
great pictures, I haven't seen that much green in over 40 years! Your fawns are about the size of our full grown does.
