We did a couple of sets today with no luck.......just a bunch of crows and a couple of hawks.....fun to watch.
Then we did our last stand at about 11:00 AM
In this first pick you can see the view from where the E-caller was........

I started the set with two lone howls a recording I made of me howling......then I went to gray fox distress for about 5 min. or so when Mr. coyote showed up and sat down right where the red arrow is and just out of sight.....I knew he was there as he started barking..... :laf:
He had no choice but to come into an open field to get down wind...I was watching one of them and my partner was watching the other.........

so he decided this was no fair and chose to do some barking instead.......I barked right back at him a few times and he would answer every one then he got quiet.........so I did too.........and I waited for a very long time.....more than an hour....nothing. So we called it a bust...But a good day out. It feels good to be out again :yoyo:
FYI: we are only allowed to hunt the feilds right now until sometime in Oct.
Least you had one comin!! :yoyo:
I don't understand "only allowed to hunt the field". You can only kill them when they are in the field, or the caller has to be in the field, or you have to be in the field, or all of the above and whats the rational behind that?
coyotes may be hunted in Open fields only accept during open small game season.
I do not know why............and I have asked many times!
Thanks, but seems asinine to me.
I have not met one person that likes it .......we have tried to get it fixed but the DNR is determined it stay that way... :argh:
That's a nice looking place.
