Title: Backyard Deer (revisited)
Post by: KySongDog on September 15, 2009, 04:57:47 PM
With deer season upon us again I thought I'd post some pics of deer I've had in my back yard.

I posted about this deer that was drinking out of my bird bath back in '07.  See   http://finsandfur.net/forums/index.php?topic=3947.0

Here is different one from a couple of years earlier.  They seem to like my bird bath for some reason.  I'm thinking about turning my house in to a deer camp and start doing guided hunts from the back deck.     :roflmao:

That's a nice looking rack.  I have two water tanks on our property for wildlife and several in-ground drinkers and the wife has several bird baths scattered around.  For some unknown reason the deer always hit the bird baths first.  I can't figure out what all that white stuff is

Guided hunts from the deck uh?  :laf: :laf:  I like that. Coffee cup in one and pointing at a deer with the other.

Semp any guess on what he would score?  He is awful high and wide and appears to have plenty of massl.  I know pictures can be deceiving but I'm thinking 140 or better.

I don't really know, John.  All I know is he was a shooter for sure.  When he showed up in my back yard, gun season was over but bow season was still in.  Unfortunately I was tagged out.  Those woods behind my house belong to one of Kentucky's state parks and is designated a nature preserve.  Even if I had my buck tag and were able to get an arrow in him, he probably would have run back to those woods.  Dragging a deer out of a nature preserve is highly frowned upon by the Fish and Wildlife guys.    :eyebrownod:
