I was told to make some green feed bales today so I got Mandy going on the sprayer and then came home to get this
(http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh145/pitw75/Forum%20Pics/Stupidstuff084.jpg)
hooked up to this.
Thusly.
Then a quick check of all the parts and add grease and chain lube where needed[doesn't take much as I put it away greased and clean].
These here baby's can and have made many a strong man bawl in misery. Most cantankerous thing that is mechanical.
Set your bail tension.
Make sure you have twine[and no hornets :argh:] and you are ready to go.
Couple shots of the land scape on my way to the field 3 1/2 miles away.
I've shot a whack of coyotes on the south side of this bush
I'm thinking there are probably 10 coyoyes in these 2 square miles at any time right now.
And just as I get her in field position and ready to rock and roll.
Flipping unbelievable :argh:. We haven't had enough rain here this year to get a cotton ball damp and this cloud comes overs and just dumps enough to make the feed damp.
So I come home to chat with a few of these.
Now I'm going to make and eat an egg sandwich and go call a coyote :yoyo:
That bailer looks about like the ones I used to use. Haven't baled in years and don't like the memories of being in the mow with the 120+ temperature. Most people now seem to be going to either the large round bales or rectangular bales that are about three times the size of the one I used to throw.
Jerry
P.S. At least you now know what you need to do when you need a little rain.
Sorry Barry...I dont like your bailer..... :nono: .......To many back breaking memories.... :laf: :laf:
Did ya get a coyote?
I like the "thusly" part :roflmao: :roflmao:
Is that even a word?
Brings back some bad memories but a lot of good ones also.
I hear ya JohnP But I rarely got to drive the tractor..... :laf:

You got to drive the tractor? The only time I did was when the farmer got called away and I drove and had to let the bales drop on the ground. Then I got to throw them up onto the wagon when the farmer returned. That was worse than bucking bales on the wagon. But I was getting $ .75 an hour.
Jerry
It good you still have that old bailer since that are going to outlaw the round bails. cc
You just took me back to my summers as a kid. The marathon baling sessions trying to beat the weather..Stacking bales in the mow... And getting $3.00/hour! I would'nt trade it for all the world!
Dave
I was lucky to get 5-10 dollars for the whole day....... :rolleye:
Back in my day  we got a penny a bale each. We worked sun up till dark, got 1000 bales in the barn and got $10.00. I figured out real quick I was going to go to school. :eyebrownod:

Slag it's an old term and you can find out for yourself. You take a good limb and whack a hornets nest, now count how many you get with each whack [when you're done could you let us know the results please] :wo:

And getting $3.00/hour!
Damn you were rich! I can remember asking Grandpa if I got paid to help him. His reply "Sure do, you get to eat tonight and you have a bed to sleep in" I did end up getting paid thirty-five cents an hour.
I mean if there was an exttra fammily member there that day then there might have been a chance at some home made ice cream for dessert but come on, to actually get cash......... WOW
Thats ok, I get the idea . I dont need no hands on learning experience to define the term whack. :innocentwhistle:
I use to enjoy hauling hay when I was a kid. Would help ya get strong for football season.
NOW.......forget it!! Ain't lifting much heavier than a fork or a shotgun. :nono:
Nice pictures of your buddies.....ya know.......the ones that are like Alscalls. Turkeys. :yoyo: :eyebrownod:
My wife could knock you down with a bale of hay ....... :laf: :laf:
See :innocentwhistle:

I may live where a frog has moved to but to call it frog country is waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy out to lunch :argh:.
Is that a common color phase up there, ever see a black one?
I understand frogs are in season.
They're always in season aren't the Barry?
John our coyotes don't vary much in coloration at all. 40 miles south of my house they do get a bit bigger and their heads have a different build. These coyotes when you get a big pale one will sell in the top lot at any fur auction. Around home we get more of the "bushy" coyote. I have never seen a color phase other than these and even the coydogs I get have this coloration. It would be neat to see a black one but I wouldn't be able to shoot it cause I wouldn't be sure.
Yes sir guys certain frogs are in season year round just like coyotes and some people that lump me and frogs together. I learned a long time ago that he with the most patience usually wins a battle. :laf:
Thanks, so as not to hi-jack your thread I'm going to post a few questions in the predator section.

You are welcome and I think your chances of being able to hijack a thread of mine are far more remote than your chances of getting a black coyote.
Jeb I'm sorry but something got on my mind and I forgot to nswer you :doh2:. I'm from Alberta, Canada. That land north of most of you that holds the odd frog.
Al I think you'll like the story .
I would have to see the story in order to like it....... :eyebrownod:
