Title: Heart Attack!
Post by: JohnP on September 18, 2009, 03:27:03 PM
Thought I try and give my feet a little work out this AM.  Since I got drawn for the late November deer hunt and fur ain't prime yet I took my Ruger #1 25.06 and a hand call with me.  Figured if I took one of the e-callers I'd have to walk twice as far and didn't want to press my luck.  This full grown female came in very reluctantly.  Picked her up at about 200 yards out heading right to me.  But she wasn't in any hurry, walking slowly and stopping every now and then to sniff the ground.  Put the caller down and hit the bulb squeaker and she picked up the pace, at about 25 yards she stopped behind a bush.  Next I saw her she was headed back to wherever it was she came from!  So at about 50 yards she had a sudden attack of heart failure.

Could barely stand and walk let alone carry her back to the Blazer.  So she is out there right now feeding the vultures and bugs.  If'n my feet don't get better this may be it for the year.....then again maybe not.

I'm glad you got out and the coyote isn't :yoyo:.  Little different than what I thought it was going to be about cause I had a whitetail doe come in behind me this morning that dang near gave me one.

That is way cool, John P.  Was it a Texas heart shot?  Weedwalker Ed really likes 'em!   :laf: :eyebrownod:

Good job!   And I sure hope your feet get better soon.   I know how being limited feels.   I had rotator cuff surgery in June and am still trying to get past that kick in the nuts.  They opened me up and put in a couple of screws.   :sick2:   I had my other shoulder operated on last year and it took about 6 months before I got all my strength back.

That hurts just to read it.  Got a few screws in me also, had a chopper go down and got pretty busted up.  Now every time I do something stupid my wife will want to know if I have a screw loose - again.  Always have a good time at the airport.

No not a Texas heart shot.  If you look closely at her neck you may be able to see where the blood has started to puddle on her off side.  I was on hillside and she was in the wash going away.  The bullet entered in the middle of her shoulder blades, severed her spine and exited on the right side of her neck.  I will make an effort to insure that the next is a bloody mess.

I was thinking about  resuscitating her but couldn't get past her bad breath.
