still on the road, getting closer

finally back home!

just north of Butte

just south of Helena where my folks live. I made it safe and sound, visited with the folks for a day then headed to camp. We saw a few elk the first two days but with no snow on the ground hard to sneak up on them, everything was crunchy.
never yell whoa in a horse race

Did you see the open mine?  Of course you have.  One MAJOR hole isn't it?

Pretty sure Anderson is a Nebraska boy.

Notice the difference in the clouds in those pics.  The one photo in particular shows that "black carpet" cloud.  I saw that on my trip to Wyoming.  It was sunny in Cheyenne.  As I inched along westward on I-80 the wind picked up to 35 mph.  By the time I passed through Laramie, one of those black carpets rolled out across the sky.  Ten minutes later I was in a whiteout.  Y'all have some freaky, freaky weather out there.  I learned the hard way.

Thanks for posting record of your trip.  It's really enjoyable to read about.
