I picked up this Old rifle today, It's a 1911 Schmidt-Rubin MFG in 1917 and it fire's the GP11 which is a 7.5 Swiss. They say that if these rifles were produced today they would cost in the 3500-4000 dollar range.
It's a cool old rifle I thought I would share it with ya'll!

Looks like she'll still work alright.  Did you get shells too?

The Bore is perfect Barry, I have a collection of K-31's which fire the same round (I'll dig one out of the safe and post a pic of one) and the Ammo is readily available, Side's that I reload it as well! It's ballistics's are comparable to a .308. These Swiss rifles are know for their incredible accuracy and the craftsmanship is compared to a Swiss watch.

If your lucky when you buy one, Sometimes you can find a tag under the buttplate that has the issiued Soldier's name and outfit on it and it's not uncommon for them to to have been tracked down and contacted.  I think that's pretty cool.

Pretty neat!   What is that ring thingy at the rear of the receiver?   Does it cock the action??

BTW if you are going to shoot it are you going to use the paper patch bullets??

Semp, It's actually the saftey/decocking lever. The action is a straight pull type, If you can see the knob in the pic It pulls straight back and foward no up and down movement on the bolt handle. The reason for this was you can keep the rifle shouldered and work the bolt and stay on target.

Rich, I'm gonna have to shoot it!!! Just to see how well it does. From what I gather the 1911 rifles mfg after 1915 were rechambered to fire the GP11 round which Is what I plan on running through it as well as some handload's. No paper patch.

I've only seen a couple of the Cadet rifles and I would like to have one myself but they are pretty rare and folks tend to hold onto em. I'm a HUGE K-31 fan and I have 4 of them 3 walnut and 1 beech which is probably the nicest one I own. I'll post a pic of it.
