Many of you might enjoy reading a series of books I have been hitting really hard recently.  They are by Joseph Heywood and are called the Woods Cop mysteries.  They are about a conservation officer in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  There are seven books in the series so far and I have enjoyed all but one of them.  Here are pictures of a few of them.

Here is the authors web site . . .

They are very discriptive of the outdoors in the UP and I find them to be real page turners.  I like to follow the story by locating where the action is taking place on Google Earth.  The author describes the locations very well and makes it easy to follow.

Here are the titles in the order they came out . . .

Ice Hunter

Blue Wolf in Green Fire

Chasing a Blonde Moon

Running Dark

Strike Dog

Death Roe

Shadow of the Wolf Tree

You can probably find these at your local public library.  That is where I found them.  My library will order them for me if they do not currently have them in.

I have also enjoye the Joe Picket books by C. J. Box.  They are similar books about a conservation officer in Wyoming!!

And the Sherriff Walt Longmire books by Craig Johnson about a sherrif in a small town in Wyoming

All these authors write about the outdoors and ar easy to follow on Google Earth and Bing Maps!!

Hope you guys enjoy them!

The boy has tied me up with the "Rangers Apprentice" series. He's getting a kick out of me reading them with him.

But these look like they might hold my attention too.

Well I finally finished the "Rangers Apprentice" series with book 10 coming to an end tonight. Not being much of a reader I found the series very interesting and really enjoyed them. They seem to cover a lot of lifes good lessons, and might even be a benefit to my boy if I can ever get him out of book #3.  :iroll:

To be honest, kinda stinks that the series has ended. I could have kept on reading about the adventures of this young group for years to come.

So my dilima not being much of a reader, I sure would liek to get into another long series along those lines.

I might have to take a look at them, since they are written about the UP of Michigan, which is my stomping ground. I'm currently reading "Zemke's Wolfpack" which is about WW II flying ace Hub Zemke. It's a very good read and based on facts.
The Second Amendment isn't about Hunting.
It's about Freedom.
