The Bloomburg Business Report this morning said if your shopping online and expect good customer service, you might want to avoid JCPenny, The Gap, and Best Buy. Those being rated the worst for online customer service.
In fact JCPenny had not responded to a single online inquire from their online Black Friday sales.

Thanks for the info.  Good to know whom to avoid.  I'm dinosaur enough that I don't like to shop online, but do at times.  I avoid online purchase of things that are likely to have to be returned if the fit is not right, like boots.

WING Supply is the easiest and best place I've shopped online, with REI right there with it.  Optics Planet was terrific the one time I bought from them, easy, quick, and they replaced a defective item immediately with only one phone call from me.  Cameraland, Campmor and Sierra Trading Post have also been easy to purchase from online.

At a tangent from your lead topic, some places are hard to figure out how to buy something online.  I tried to buy from Grandview Outdoors a couple of times and gave up navigating the complex maze of purchase process.  I can'teven navigate their web site very well to shop, let alone buy anything.  Nikon used to have a nightmare of a site.  It scrolled dazzling images, nice art show, but would not give me the most basic info about binoculars, etc.
