News channel this morning said the fire out there is spreading at a rate of 40ft per second :shock2:
Did they screw up or is it REALLY ripping across things that fast?

Yeah that's really cookin across the land. I can believe it's at least close to that rate tho the way the winds blow out there.

Believe it Jim.  Our fire last year started about five+ miles from our house.  The following evening we had flames on our ridge and later that night we got evacuated.

Have been playing phone tag with NorCal for the past two days.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

Many thats just crazy rapid devastation. I guess thats where the phrase, "spreads like wildfire" came from uh :sneer:

Stay safe and thank you and all the firefighters for all you do.  Seeing it first hand like we did last year we sure do appreciate you guys!

Approaching our house on the second day, after it started 5+ miles way. You can see our little bird feeder in the photo.

Headed to Laramie WY tonight, hotel and first shower in 8 days, and it is needed. Then we head to Colorado in the morning.
