It never ceases to amaze me at how organized these killing machines are. One of them is always keeping watch, and they all show each other nothing but the utmost respect in passing.

Boring video to most people, but it's full of interesting behavior.

Neat video.

I watched a group of coyotes one Winter day. They were around 1/2 mile away as they slowly traveled in a string. This was in the latter part of January if I recall. Anyway, the lead coyote was a female. The four lag coyotes were males.

As they traveled & stopped. They all kept a pretty equal space between themselves. The female stopped to pee. As all of the males stood in place patiently watching her. Then one at a time they all came up to her spot. Then took their turn peeing on that spot, never breaking rank in line.

At that time I was still a coyote killer. But I enjoyed watching that behavior so much. I gave them all a free pass. In my latter yrs. I figured I've learned much more about the predators by observing them. Versus, getting right to killing them.
