How big is that little guy.  There isn't the ketchup dribble to compare it to anymore.

It will look with a reed in it.

To be totally honest, this call is a broomstick to me.   The reed system may help it some, but it's pretty Plane Jane with not much thought on its design or much skill invested into it IMO.

Before you take that as being too harsh... realize that EVERY new call maker has to go through the same learning process in several stages, make a lot of questionable calls while they get it all figured out, improve their skills and techniques, and come up with their own style or pattern.   I made way more than my fair share of broomsticks back when I started I assure you, and I think most all of the call builders who have made the grade did too when they started out.   One of those you have to pass first grade before you can go on to second grade kind of things.

I don't hand out canned praise and you asked for honest opinions.   So I hope mine is taken as it was intended... to help you along in seeking out the next higher level.   Keep at it and you'll get there.

Larry what I learned on this call was how to taper the inside of the bell with the tools I have,as you stated it is a learning process.I am not taking your words to be  harsh. It is a honer to have your input on my work.I have been told that practice makes perfect.Thank You

Thanks Bill... glad you took it as meant.   I think I can safely say I too have only been practicing at making calls all these years... because I've always had my share of days when nothing goes right in the wood shop.   There is always something new to learn, and I'm still learning.   No craftsman will move forward much if they stop learning.    Have fun...
