Jon and I got out again on Monday evening 11/3/14 to SE OH for some calling.  After two stands with no success we moved out into a large field facing a large area of soybeans and corn at about 7:30 PM.  Had a nearly full moon which has worked well for us recently!  Jon was about 100 yards to my right.  He was doing rabbit distress on his new call.  I soon picked up eyes coming into view to my left front at about 150 yards in the soybean field.  Everytime Jon stopped calling the coyote would stop too.  It was in and out of my sight in the waist high soybeans.  I whispered to him on the radio to keep calling, that I had eyes in sight.  The coyote kept moving toward him from my left to right, not seeming to be alarmed by my red led XLR 100 scanning light.  When it was about 100 yards away I turned on the XLR 250 white led shooting light to positively identify it as a coyote and take the shot.  But it was still partially hidden in the soybean stalks.  Turned the white light off and whispered to Jon over the walkie talkie to keep calling.  The coyote, ignoring the white light, continued moving toward him and soon reached an area where I had a clear shot.  Turned the white light on again and BANG, KERPLOP.  I love that KERPLOP!  Coyote down!
