Deer are very similar to wild canines. As they seek a wind brake area on the down-wind side.

I've hunted hard lately trying to find lion sign. Came up empty again. I did find a couple of coyote tracks who left 3" long prints. Largest coyote track I ever found to date(if I recall correctly?) Was 3.5" long. A few days ago I seen a huge coyote way out there. But he was on the run & disappeared behind a distant hill. Before I could get my camera on him. Anyway snow is gone now. So the wait continues. No snow, sucks.

VERY nice pictures! Thanks for letting me see a buck or two for deer season. The 42"+ of snow in the first storm of the year ended firearms deer season before it even started. It was next to impossible to get into camp, but the Super Duty w/snow plow made it. It took well over an hour to go .8 of a mile.  The problem is/was that the deer had migrated to the winter yards and there were no deer left in the area.
