It's important to us. For many years, we've been seeing the various markets in which our boxes are included get more and more glutted with cheap, foreign knock-offs of established products like ours. These knock-offs are often reverse engineered from existing products and then sold for a fraction of the price of the original. Unfortunately, more and more American manufacturers are being forced out of business by this trend.

The only way to stop this trend is to pay attention. Pay attention to where goods are manufactured - where they are assembled, who makes the parts, who owns the company. It takes a minute more, but if you do, you can take credit for helping turn around our economy. Right now, there are many websites and listings of companies that manufacture all types of goods right here in the USA. Here are just a few:

http://www.madeinusa.org
http://consumerreports.org
http://madeinusachallenge.com
http://www.americansworking.com
Do a quick search and you'll find more links than you can imagine. Without the public's help, U.S. manufacturers will drop away one by one, until all that's left are cheap, foreign-made goods that don't last. You might pay a little more for American-made, but in the long run it's worth it. According to ABC News, if consumers spent 1% more on American made products, it would create 200,000 additional jobs. Imagine if you spent 5% consistently? It would create 1,000,000 jobs!

Think about it this Christmas when you're trying to pick out that perfect gift... or next time you need something that you normally would just grab without a thought. Make a difference to all of us and make this country STRONG again.

I always try to but American made goods, but sometimes we don't have a choice anymore.  :argh: :argh: Seems like everything is foreign made junk.  :doh2: :doh2: :madd: :madd:

The same goes for cars/trucks. Assembled here, but owned by a foreign corporation is not an American vehicle. The money still goes out of the USA to the foreign corporation and adds to the trade deficit.

Good post nasty and I don't want to offend anyone but the Unions are putting a lot of companies out of business. but I totally agree buy " Made In America ". Just saw on the news this morning that companies are firing Americans and hiring low wage Illegals, just another problem this administration turning this country to over to Illegals.  :argh: cc

Yes ago they replaced the workers with robots!
They were cheaper to operate and didn't call in sick.
Maybe they found out they got more expensive and when you wear them out you have to replace them!
I guess the new idea is wear out the worker replace them with a cheaper labor force and get the ones paying taxes to pay for the worn out worker till they die.
Sound like more money in the company's pocket to me.

I guess as always it comes down to the almighty dollar?

Years ago, the unions were founded to protect the worker. Today, the vast majority of the unions are nothing more than tools for the democRATS and deserve to be treated as such. Now they protect and fund fools like obama and the other democRATS at the expense of the dues paying workers.
