My wife needs a little more care as we age, and to cope with her situation we've modified how I hunt deer.  We've done a lot more driving logging roads to see Fall leaves, have a few picnics and a little bit of trying to call a deer to my vehicle.  Along the way we've found some spectacular views across the Straits of Juan de Fuca to Vancouver Island in Canada, and found some beautiful creeks and waterfalls.

Below is a view of Sequim Bay, the Straits of Juan de Fuca looking across to Vancouver Island, which is hidden in the distant fog/cloud bank.  One of my wife's favorite spots to stop for a look, and we saw a deer not 50 yards from this spot.

Once in awhile I have hunted near home very early, so I can be back home by the time she gets up.  That's how I got the buck on Halloween:  walked out 1/3 mile with a flashlight and called as it got light, planning to head home after 45 minutes or so.  The buck showed up within four minutes.

Beautiful area and your pictures make me want to return to the Northwest again.
