In the 48 hours before I got my buck, two large horn rubs appeared close to where I shot him, one of them visible from where I sat and called.  I looked at them and hoped I would get the buck that made them and I'm pretty I did.

With mule deer, I rubbed a very fresh horn rub with scent glands from a large buck killed 20 miles away.  I came back a half hour later and a buck had gone berserk, making a dozen horn rubs within a 40 foot circle of the one I marked with scent from another buck.   Don't know how a whitetail would react but FWIW

If it was three or 4 feet higher up the tree I might have thought it was a bullwinkle. Snowstorm tomorrow 5-11 inches.
