I've been absent and pretty quiet, doing stuff with kids.  For the past several years one of my grandsons has killed a bear on opening day but this year he spent the time with his wife who delivered a strong, robust baby girl.  She's my 7th great grandchild.

I kept camp a couple of days for my son, our lone archery elk hunter this year.  He hit a 5x5 herd bull yesterday morning but did not get it.  45 yard broadside shot aimed behind shoulder, but tracking it all day indicated that it was not hit hard.  A pinch of cut hair, a couple of spots of blood 300 yards farther, and the bull never left its herd.  It jumped over a down log 300 yards from the hit, going uphill, obviously not injured much. Very difficult tracking, especially amid a blizzard of elk tracks from the herd.

Last year was his first year to switch from rifle hunting elk to a bow, and he shot two large bulls last year: one in WA and one in Idaho.  No guides.  He has two Boone and Crockett rifle bulls and has helped his son and nephews kill four archery record bulls. Yes, I admit I am proud.

I have fished humpies and silver (Coho) salmon a bit with grandsons, fun on light tackle.  Also cut some shooting lanes from a stump where I plan to try to call a mature buck come deer season.  I should put up a trail camera, but am assuming the big buck that lived there last year is still alive.  Codger tech.

I just spent an hour trying to post a pic of the elk hunt, and can't do it.  Apparently the photo program has changed/upgraded and so far I can't figure out how to see the photos just saved in my photo file on the computer.  Why do they continually change programs without notice that work perfectly well, and not at least give me the option of using the old system that I know how to operate?

Along that line, Imgur changed their photo service and I have a terrible time figuring out how to do the most basic thing:  see my images.  It is downright funny.  I can do dozens of cool things, and none of them hint at how to see the images I have stored there.  At least they sometimes offer a click to go back to the old form and not use the new system.

Yeah you have every reason to be proud Okanagan :eyebrownod:
If your photo is stored online, you just need the address for that picture.
If it's on your computer you can click the little sentence which is beneath the box your typing in and reads "Click or drag files here to attach them"

Codger Tech, i like that  . I was just showing a couple of the young Bucks how to line up the reticle on a rifle scope by using a piece of string with a weight on it hanging off the wall. I told them gravity is always straight!. They thought that was neato mosquito. I said I've been shooting guns since I was six years old I picked up a thing or two along the way boys
