Hawks Feather

Bloodwood body and Ebony mouthpiece.  The mouthpiece uses Al's "O" ring suggestion for easy removal of the mouthpiece.  The finish is oil and wax and it still needs another coat of wax before it hits the mail.  The reed holder has NOT been glued in yet, so if you have ever wanted a reverse call (think of blowing a duck call) it can be done that way.  The call is 4 inches long and about 1 3/8 inches at the widest part of the body and the round laying beside the call is a .243.  $30 will get it to your house and your money will be refunded if you are not happy with the call.

Thanks for looking,

Yerry

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks for all the nice comments and to bowjunkie for the purchase.

Bob, there are two reds that I have used that are pretty close, Bloodwood and Redheart.  They are similar, but I like the Bloodwood better.  The Ebony is beautiful (and very hard) wood, but after sanding you have the finest black dust that gets everywhere.  It is similar to ironwood with the dust and hardness.

There is also padauk if you're talking "red" woods. Bloodwood is much better thyan both the padauk and redheart. It retains its color much longer where the other two tend to fade or change color with exposure to UV rays...kinda like cherry.

Very nice call Jerry...
