OK guys....ya'll know I am always full of crap....but this time I am serious...I need your input. I have a lot of guys asking for sounds...before I post 'em up for downloading, I would like your most sincere input.
This is not a time for "good old boy" stuff...I want/NEED your honest opinions as to the quality and usefullness of these sounds!! Please don't worry about stepping on anyone's feelings....it ain't about that!! I need to know how you feel, whether you would use them, put them in your FOXPRO, whether you think they would be successful, and whether you think they need more work or you are happy as is...

This first sound is made by a new call I am working on....I haven't let one out of the shop as I have only had it out in the field twice.......but it put yotes in my lap both times!! I am calling it a "Jack Master" as it will easily make all the sounds I have been able to attempt of a Jack Rabbit....

Link deleted, thanks.

I will post a link to the sound file...please listen and give me your most honest feedback!!

Thanks in advance!! Remember...this ain't about $$....the sounds will be free, just lookin' to do the best I can do for you guys!!

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Joe,
The call has a good range of sound in it. If it has called up coyotes for you then it should be good to go .

Without even listening to it, I can tell you it'll work. You been around calls long enough to know how to make a call sing, and the dead dogs you post prove it.

What sounds like garbage to one guy might be the cats ass to the next. Everyone's different, and the majority blow the calls different.

Should you post your sounds? Most definitely, if your willing to share. There are SOOO many new comers to the sport in here and out there that can never tell if they are blowing right or wrong or how the call should sound, some are afraid to ask, and some dont get the answer they want because a lot of people dont or wont give up their sounds.

While were on the subject, look at FoxPro charging for their sounds. That's total bullshit. Those sounds dont call coyotes any better then Texas dust grinding through the brake rotor of 65 Willy's.

If it sounds like something in distress...it's gonna call coyotes

THO Game Calls

If you are worrying about getting ridiculed by the "expert" callers out there, then I say you need to step back and figure out what you are trying to accomplish - help  guys who want sounds, or build your own reputation as a caller?   And if it is the second one, why in the world would you even worry about that?  You are already an accomplished caller!  If the "experts" want to snipe you, let them.   Maybe ask them where THEIR sounds are for everyone to use?   That ought to shut them up.

There are more than a few callers and call makers who have sounds for download on their sights.  Some of the best you will find are from Ernie Wilson.  Rich Cronk has some, VarmintAl has some, and there are others as well.

Don't worry about it.  Just record them the best you can and let people choose to use them or not.

Look at it like this, at least they wont feel bad using a $20.00 sound CD for target practice once they listen to it and find out that the sounds on it SUCK.  (no KeeKee it wasn't one of yours - and I wont say who but it's a darn good thing that boy uses a Fox Pro or he would be in another line of work)

On the other hand, if this is an advertising ploy (and I have seen this before by someone we both know) then shame on you.   But I think your heart is in the right place, so post them and let the callers decide.   Maybe you can market them with a down home title like "Comin' to the Call Ya'all" or something snazzy like that.

You know what Al..."Motives" were never even considered by me...shows how naive I am. I was doing what I said, trying to put up some sounds as they were requested, do it to the satisfaction of as many as I could, and do it for free. I never imagined someone questioning my motives....with that in mind perhaps I was right to be reserved about posting these.

I tire of "sniping"...in order to alleviate it, I suppose I should make a smaller target.

Thanks for the advice...

Joe

Hawks Feather

Joe,

I don't think anyone here will question your motives, some places maybe, but not here.  I like this sound better than the other, but I am no coyote.

Jerry

THO Game Calls

Let's see Joe....

You design calls for Buck Gardner

You recorded a coyote hunting CD for Buck Gardner

You have posted sound files of your calls since almost day one so most people know you can call

As Jim said, your photos of dead coyotes show that too.

So why worry about if they are good enough or not?   Post them for down load and if people don't like them, let it go.

I would imagine that people will like them, and a lot of folks will benefit from them.

Just my opinion -  take it for what it's worth, it's free.
