Did Remington once use Hart barrels?

Years ago, I read somewhere that a number of older Remington rifles came factory with Hart barrels. The barrels were specially marked (stamped with a heart design).  I have seen two rifles with this mark.

Anyone know if this was true or just plain old BS to help sell more rifles?

It's probably a good possibilty on the 40X but I doubt an over-the-counter 700 would have had that upgrade.
Just a theory.
